Nuclear threats in the Middle East

I was reading for school in the Current Events magazine, and we had to read a specific article, which was about the recent threats of nuclear weaponry and attacks in the Middle East. The IAEA, or International Atomic Energy Agency, reported evidence of Iran building nuclear weapons. But they only denied it, explaining that they just wanted to use nuclear energy in a peaceful manner.

Even though this doesn't concern America as much as it does places like Israel because of conflicts between the two countries, it still kinda scares me a bit. I think this could, if escalated enough, start a third world war. And, our country is in no state to help wars because of the economy.

High Schooler

Now, I know I already did a blog similar to this in my first post, but now, it's different.

At our school, the students were immediatly outraged when the principle came over the intercom notifying us that we'd have to eat lunch in our 4th period class.

This wouldn't be as bad if we didn't have to go to the lunch line as a class, and only one person could leave the room at once.

I've done this before......in elementary school.

I'm not too mad about this, but lunch is one of those times of the day where we can get out of the classroom and just not worry about teachers watching us.

I'd rather get back to the normal lunch and be able to sit at our uncomfortable, tiny lunch stools.

It's just lunch.

Another lunch topic while I'm at it....

The food.

It's disgusting. And, probably pretty unhealthy because I've never seen a healthy chicken patty that's rock solid.

I honestly think the whole "obese America's children" is mostly the menu choices fault.

Needless to say, I do not eat the food if possible.

I enjoy things like yogurt, fruit, and rice to go rather than their food.

Sensationalism

Dicionary.com defines sensationalism as "subject matter, language, or style producing or designed to produce startling or thrilling impressions or to excite and please vulgar taste," and that's exactly what it is. So how do we know what exactly the story is and what's just enhancing it?

Well, we don't.

Every time I look at a news app on my phone, or watch the news on TV, or read a newspaper, half the stories don't really matter that much.

For example, I was just readin in my New York Times application on my iPhone, and there was a story about a man's restaurant and his pasta. He has such a special woman that makes the pasta in the resaurant. I would love to see this kind of story on the Travel Channel if I were watching an episode of something like "Pasta Paradise," but on the New York Times? Really?

Now, some people might enjoy to see these "interesting" stories on top news headlines, but me? I'd rather see something like world news or polotics.

Thanksgiving!(:

Thanksgiving is coming up in just a couple days. It's one of my favourite holidays--Christmas is my favourite. I love coming around with my family and eating some amazing food. (especially chik-fil-a nuggets at my grandparent's house.

Thanksgiving is celebrated in Canada and United States. It originated in Europe where they celebrated safe voyage, peace, and good harvest.

Conrad Murray found guilty

I've tried to follow the trial of Conrad Murray in the past week or so, but honestly I didn't really care too much. But it's good to know now that he's found guilty of involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. I was kinda wondering why in the world such an amazing man would commit suicide Murray's charges are to be determined November 29, with up to 4 years in prison.

Murray was serving as Jackson's physician before his comeback concerts. That worked well....(not!)

It's good that Michael's case is closed and whoever needs to grieve about him can grieve in peace, knowing how he died and that the person that caused it is going to prison.

Mount Rainier

On any normal morning, a sunrise consisists of some clouds, the sun(duh), and a pretty sky. But in Wednesday morning, Seattleans got a treat.

Mount Rainier is 14,000 feet tall, so it's quite a view for the shorter landscape in the area. The conditions have to be just right to see something like this, so that the mountain creates almost a smoke-looking shadow cast onto the cloud cover above.

I think this picture is so beautiful. It's a little disappointing there arent things like this in Kentucky that i see, or that I get up early enough to see the sunrise.

I can't take my eyes off of it.

Steve Jobs

Okay, I do realize Steve Jobs isn't alive anymore.

But when Steve Jobs was alive, what would a day in his life been like?

Although I'm not quite sure what it'd be like to be a 56 year old creator and CEO (until August) of Apple with cancer, I imagine it'd be something like this (Through the years) http://bcove.me/m1m54mg1

It's a little disappointing seeing that Jobs didn't get to live through the release and selling of over 4 million. iPhone 4s'. But he has lived through and seen everything from the first home computer from Apple to the iPad

It's a truly sad thing to lose an amazing man like Steve Jobs, but what he has accomplished has been amazing.
